HOLI 2014

Holi (Sanskrit: होली) is a spring festival also known as festival of colours, and sometimes festival of love. It is an ancient Hindu religious festival which has become popular with non-Hindus in many parts of South Asia, as well as people of other communities. It is primarily observed in India, Nepal, and other regions of the world with significant populations of majority Hindus or people of Indian origin. The festival has, in recent times, spread in parts of Europe and North America as a spring celebration of love, frolic and colours. Holi celebrations start with a Holika bonfire on the night before Holi where people gather, sing and dance. The next morning is free for all carnival of colours,[5] where everyone plays, chases and colours each other with dry powder and coloured water, with some carrying water guns and coloured water-filled balloons for their water fight. Anyone and everyone is fair game, friend or stranger, rich or poor, man or woman, children and elders. The frolic and fight with colours occurs in the open streets, open parks, outside temples and buildings. Groups carry drums and musical instruments, go from place to place, sing and dance. People move and visit family, friends and foes, first play with colours on each other, laugh and chit-chat, then share Holi delicacies, food and drinks. In the evening, after sobering up, people dress up, visit friends and family.It is a national holiday in India. Holi is celebrated at the approach of vernal equinox, on the Phalguna Purnima (Full Moon). The festival date varies every year, per the Hindu calendar, and typically comes in March, sometimes February in the Gregorian Calendar. The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair ruptured relationships.

1. विपत्ति-नाश के लिए :शरणागतदीनार्तपरित्राणपरायणे।सर्वस्पापहरे देव‍ि नारायणि naमोस्तुते।। 2. भय नाश के लिए :सर्वस्वरूपे सर्वेश सर्वशक्तिसमन्विते।भयेभ्यस्त्राहि नो देवि, दुर्गे देवि नमोस्तुते।। 3. पाप नाश तथा भक्ति की प्राप्ति के लिए :नमेभ्य: सर्वदा भक्त्या चण्डिके दुरितापहे। रूपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि।। 4. मोक्ष की प्राप्ति के लिए :त्वं वैष्णवी शक्तिरन्तवीर्या।विश्वस्य बीजं परमासि माया। सम्मोहितं देवि समस्तमेतत्त्वं वै प्रसन्ना भूवि मुक्ति हेतु:।। 5. हर प्रकार के ‍कल्याण के लिए :सर्वमंगल्यमांगल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थसाधिके।शरण्ये त्र्यंबके गौरी नारायणि नमोस्तुते।। 6. धन, पुत्रादि प्राप्ति के लिए :सर्वबाधाविनिर्मुक्तो-धनधान्यसुतान्वित:मनुष्यों मत्प्रसादेन भविष्यति न संशय:।। 7. रक्षा पाने के लिए :शूलेन पाहि नो देवि पाहि खंडे न चाम्बिके।घण्टास्वनेन न: पाहि चापज्यानि: स्वनेन च।। 8. बाधा व शांति के लिए :सर्वबाधाप्रमशन: त्रैलोक्याखिलेश्वरि।एवमेव त्वया कार्यमस्यद्धैरिविनाशनम्।। 9. सुलक्षणा पत्नी की प्राप्ति के लिए :पत्नी मनोरमां देहि नोवृत्तानुसारिणीम्।तारिणी दुर्गसंसारसागरस्य कुलोद्भवाम।।

 The Republic Day is celebrated on 26th January annually to remember the enforcement of India’s constitution. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted Indian Constitution and finally on 26th January 1950 it was enacted. It took 2years 11 months and 8 days to complete the constitution.
